![]() ![]() Understand that the $300 Contax repair by Henrey is $225 for the body and $75 for the lens. ![]() If I purchased a Nikon S2/S3 it would go to the best repair person I could find. All my Leicas go to DAG (he's done 7 Leicas for me), my Hasselbalds go to Brad Sherman, lots of stuff goes to SK Grimes, etc. I always budget $250 to $300 for an overhaul by the best aviable repair person. I would also argue that ANY 1950's or 1960's camera requires service before use, Contax, Nikon, Leica, or Hasselblad for that matter. All I was saying is that it costs less to get a Contax IIa than a Nikon S2 which have equivealent viewfinders. Your offer validates exactly what I am saying: The market values a Nikon S3/S2 higher than a Contax IIa. It's great that you can but to argure values based on the owner doing the overhaul is not logical from a real world perspective. Not all of us have the skills to overhaul a camera, let alone a Contax IIa. I understand your logic but it has a flaw. ![]()
